How to cook stuffed cabbage in a multicooker: a simple recipe by Eugene Klopotenko

The chef shared a recipe that will make the stuffed cabbage tender and juicy.

With stuffing – one of my favorite recipes for comfortable eating that is perfect for lunch or dinner on the weekend, and most importantly – when it’s cold. The most popular filling for cabbage leaves is meat: minced or minced pork, beef, chicken or lamb with spices, onion and carrot. And if you want to save time, lazy stuffed cabbage. But often prepare other options: cabbage rolls with beans, mushrooms, cereal and even seafood. In different countries different sauces are served with the dish: traditionally we have sour cream or tomato sauce and sour cream, in other countries it can be jam, a light sauce of olive oil, lemon or vinegar with spices.

Stuffed cabbage is a popular dish for both daily dinner and special occasion celebrations. For Christmas Eve in many regions of Ukraine, stuffed cabbage is one of the twelve traditional dishes served for dinner. In this case, use only the ingredients of the song. Today I will explain the recipe for stuffed cabbage in a multicooker: it is ideal for cooking and the stuffed cabbage will be tender and juicy.

How to cook stuffed cabbage?

The delicious stuffed cabbage is easy to cook. You need to know some basic points. I will start by processing the cabbage. If you want to separate the leaves from the raw cabbage, it can break and break easily, and it will be very difficult to wrap the filling in it. Therefore, first be sure to cut off the head, the hardest part of the cabbage, and then put it in boiling water. Due to the fact that we removed the cob, the leaves will be easy to separate, and the water will become softer and easier to wrap. After removing the leaves from the water, I recommend cutting the hard part of each leaf, this will make the dish softer. I advise you to take a large cabbage, so that the leaves are large and it is easier to form stuffed cabbage. The filling can be chosen for any taste, it just depends on your preferences. No need to cook it, it will be prepared in the process of stuffing cabbage stew.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rice
  • 500 g minced meat
  • 1 teaspoon. ground coriander
  • 1 col
  • 1 onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 3r. l. sunflower oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 4 Jamaican pepper peas
  • 4 black pepper peas

Preparation:

1. Prepare all the ingredients for cooking the stuffed cabbage in a multicooker. First, cook the rice. You can do this in a multicooker, by activating the special mode or in a frying pan. Pour a glass of rice with two glasses of water, cook for 5 minutes after boiling the water, then turn off the heat and cover the pan with a lid for another 15 minutes.

2. Carefully cut off the head of the cabbage. Boil water in a large saucepan and place the cabbage. Bring to a boil for a few minutes and then carefully separate one leaf at a time. We put the leaves in a separate dish, cut off the head, so the leaves will separate easily. Putting the cabbage in boiling water will simplify the process of wrapping the filling.

3. Cut the hard part of each cabbage leaf. Then the finished stuffed cabbage will be softer in taste.

4. Cut the onion into small cubes, grate the carrots on a large grater. Heat a skillet with 3 tbsp. l. sunflower oil and make roasted onion and carrot.

5. In a large bowl, place the boiled rice, add the roast, 500 g minced meat, 1 tbsp. ground coriander, salt and pepper to taste. Mix well. The filling can be chosen and any other to taste.

6. Spread the filling over the cabbage leaves and form the rolls, first wrapping the leaves on the sides. Place the rolls formed in the multicooker sewing bowl, add 2 bay leaves, 3 cloves of garlic, 4 Jamaican pepper peas and 4 black pepper peas.

7. In a bowl pour 1 cup water, 1 cup sour cream, 1 tbsp. l. tomato paste, salt and pepper to taste. Stir and pour into a bowl with stuffed cabbage. Set the stew mode. My multicooker stuffed cabbage cooking at 1:00.
