Pear and blue cheeseburger: Jamie Oliver’s recipe

Can a burger be a gourmet dish? Yes, if you change something and add something. We offer to cook a burger not too traditional, but incredibly tasty. And more useful than the classic. It is based on a recipe by British chef Jamie Oliver.

Ingredients (for 8 burgers):

  • fresh buns (you can buy or bake, add the recipe) 8 units.
  • blue cheese with mold 100 gr.
  • pear 2 units.
  • arugula (or other salad that tastes good) 100 gr.
  • salt and pepper
  • minced meat (Oliver offers pork, and we, chicken or turkey, go better with pears and cheese) 500 gr.
  • balsamic vinegar (preferably fruit) 2 tbsp. l.
  • onion jam (optional) 4 tbsp. l. You can find the recipe here.

Add salt and pepper to the minced meat, form 8 thin ribs. To make them the same size, you can use any ring (or for a garnish, or even a regular glass). The size of the rib should match the size of the bread.

Cut the pear into thin slices, remove the stones. Put them on a plate and sprinkle with balsamic vinegar. Grind the cheese.

Fry the ribs in a pan on both sides. And even better: on the grill. If there is no grill or pan where you can fry without oil, spread the pan with very, very little oil. It is advisable to use a silicone brush for this purpose.

The side ribs. Melt the cheese in a pan and roll up the ribs.

Cut the bread in half. Fry the side of the cut. In the bottom half of the bread, place onion jam (if used), lettuce (arugula), ribs, pear. Place the top half of the bread on top.

Damping buns

Of course, you can buy buns. But cooking yourself is much tastier.

Ingredients (for 8 rolls):

  • flour 500 gr
  • water 150 ml
  • milk 100 ml
  • sugar 2 tbsp. l.
  • except 1 tbsp
  • salt 1 tsp.
  • butter 50 gr
  • or 1 pc.
  • sesame

Dissolve the yeast in warm milk. Sift the flour into a deep bowl, add salt and sugar. Add the warm milk, egg and butter, mix well.

Place on the work surface, knead until the dough is smooth, smooth and elastic. This can be done in a blender with a special nozzle for the dough. Return the dough to the bowl and let it rise. It will take about an hour.

All this can be done on the bread machine in the “Yeast dough” program.

Then roll out the dough on the work surface, divide it into 8 equal parts and form balls. Transfer the seam down to the parchment-lined baking tray a great distance from each other, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise a little more. They should increase in size between one and a half or two times. Grease the buns with beaten egg or milk and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Bake in the oven at 200 ° for about 30 minutes until dark golden. Allow the finished buns to cool slightly before slicing.
