Ingredients: pearl barley (1 cup), water (2.5 cups), salt, sugar, butter (20 g).

Preparation:

Wash the cereal well with running water; this can be done several times. Put it in the bowl of the multicooker and fill it with clean water. Leave it in this state overnight; during this time, the pearl barley should swell. If there is no time, pour boiling water and wait at least half an hour.

Then add salt and sugar to taste, as well as butter. Set the “Porridge” mode to multicooker and timer for 60-80 minutes. After cooking, let the porridge infuse under a closed lid: activate the “Warm-up” mode for 15-20 minutes.

Serve pearl barley as a garnish, if any, you can sprinkle with finely chopped parsley.

Pearl barley porridge with vegetables and chicken in a pan

Ingredients: pearl barley (200 g), chicken fillet (500 g), onion (1 unit), carrot (1 unit), water (400 ml), salt, pepper, spices.

Preparation:

Wash the pearl barley several times, if possible: soak it.

Onions and carrots are washed under running water, cleaned. Finely chop the onion and grate the carrots.

The chicken fillet or other part of the chicken is washed with running water, cut the meat into small pieces.

Ingredients: pearl barley (400 g), beef (500 g), onion (1 piece), carrot (1 piece), tomato paste (1 tbsp L.), garlic (3 grains), oil (20 g), water (1 tbsp) liter), salt, spices.

You will also need a special pot for baking.

Preparation:

To cook pearl barley in baking pans, you can grab any boned meat you have: pork, beef or chicken. The meat is washed and cut into small pieces.

Heat a frying pan with vegetable oil and fry the meat over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, adding salt and other spices to taste.

Peel and grate the onions and carrots, grate the carrots and chop the onions with a knife. Add the meat to a pan and fry for another 5 minutes. Then add a little tomato paste and water and simmer for another 1-2 minutes.

Peel a squash, grate it and squeeze the juice.

Pearl barley is washed several times with cold water. Then pour it into a dry pan and fry, stirring, until golden.

Place in a pot to cook meat prepared with vegetables, pearl barley, and then fill it with water, so that it covers all the ingredients. Add a little garlic, as well as salt and spices, if necessary.

Put the pot in the cold oven. Then turn it on and heat it to 200 ° C. 20 minutes after the start, reduce the temperature to 180 ° C. Bake for about 1 hour, then check: if the cereal is soft, you can get it.
