Stuffed potato pancakes: a recipe for Ukrainian delicacy – Latest and current news from Ukraine and the world, online news of the day

In the village of Busha in the Vinnytsia region, this potato recipe is called “Blind Fish”. And this despite the fact that even a small tent or crucian tent doesn’t smell at all. But don’t rush to openly accuse the authors of the idea, because on the outside the “rhapsody” of the Bushan potato really resembles fish jellies.

Lyudmyla Berezivska, a resident of this Cossack city, demonstrated the art of turning a daily meal into a small festive masterpiece to viewers on Kostiantyn Hrubych’s YouTube channel.

Ingredients for potatoes:

– potatoes – 500 g;

– eggs – 2 pieces;

– flour – 2 tbsp. l .;

– soft drink – 0.5 teaspoon;

– pepper, salt – to taste.

Pouring Ingredients:

– boiling water – 500 ml;

– carrots – 1 piece;

– light bulb – 1 piece;

– water – 200 ml;

– starch – 3 tbsp. l .;

– All – to taste.

Grate the peeled potatoes, add the eggs, salt, pepper, baking soda and flour. Mix the resulting dough well and start frying like normal potato pancakes.

Then you have to do two things at once: fry the chopped onion in oil to season it and prepare the filling, which will turn your potatoes into the promised “Blind Fish”.

To prepare the latter, add carrots and onions in boiling salted water and cook until cooked through. Meanwhile, dilute the potato starch in a glass of water. Then, stirring the vegetable broth constantly, pour it slowly into the pan. Put peppers and your favorite vegetables here.

It’s easy to pick up “Blind Fish”. Sprinkle the potato pancakes on a plate, generously pour the hot icing first and then the fried onions. If you like garlic, you can grate it with a fine grater and sprinkle the dish over it.

As soon as the dressing cools down a bit and thickens, you’ll soon understand why this potato dish got its name.
