The Annunciation of the Virgin Mary is a holiday that is celebrated annually on April 7th. This day is marked in the church calendar as the date on which the Virgin Mary received the good news of the birth of our son, our Savior Jesus Christ. The Annunciation falls on a strict Lent, so you can only eat allowed food.

Fish soup with lentils

  • fish – 300 g;
  • lentils – 50 g;
  • carrots – 1 piece;
  • onion – 1 piece;
  • lemon – to taste;
  • potatoes – 3 pieces;
  • tomato – 1 piece;
  • salt, pepper, dill – to taste.

Wash, peel and chop the fish, potatoes, onions and tomatoes. Put the potatoes, fish and lentils in a saucepan, fill with cold water and bring to a boil. Boil, salt and stir for 20 minutes.

Fry the onions, carrots and tomatoes in a pan. Add to soup, boil for 10-15 minutes, then add spices or salt, stir. 2 minutes before finishing cooking, add the chopped dill and lemon juice.

Jelly cake with haddock and potatoes

  • cod fillet – 500 g;
  • potatoes – 4 pieces;
  • onion – 1 piece;
  • ground red pepper – 1 tsp;
  • sesame;
  • salt, pepper and other spices.

For the dough:

  • eggs – 2 pieces;
  • kefir – 150 ml;
  • flour – 180 g;
  • powdered yeast – 5 g;
  • vegetable oil – 15 ml;
  • salt, a little soda.

Clean the cod fillets, rinse, cut into pieces, boil in salted water. Peel a squash, grate it and fry it in oil. In a separate bowl, combine eggs, yogurt, salt, baking soda, and butter. Add the flour and yeast, knead the dough. Grease a baking tray with butter, pour in half of the dough and potatoes. Then pull out the fish and pour the dough back in. At the end, sprinkle with sesame seeds and cook for 30-40 minutes at a temperature of 180 ℃.

Baked fish cake

  • fillet of any white fish – 500 g;
  • medium tomatoes – 2 pieces;
  • Bulgarian pepper – 1 piece;
  • onion – 1 piece;
  • carrots – 1 piece;
  • all – 1 grain;
  • cream – 200 g;
  • salt, pepper – to taste.

Finely chop the onion, simmer in a pan until soft and golden. Add the carrots, grated with a grater, cover with water and simmer for 5 minutes. Diced tomatoes and peppers, add to vegetables and simmer for 5 minutes. At the end, add the chopped vegetables.

Cut the fish fillets into portions, grate the garlic, sprinkle with salt and pepper. Fry in a pan on each side for 3-4 minutes. Put the vegetables and fish on a baking tray, pour in the sour cream. Bake for 30 minutes at 200 ℃.
