With the taste of home. Three recipes for Ukrainian breakfasts

We have prepared some morning meals that will remind you at home wherever you are.

Having been forced to move, it is difficult for many Ukrainians to find a sense of comfort and home in new places or countries where they have been. Restoring pre-war routine is an important step in creating a family atmosphere anywhere in the world. Ukrainian-flavored breakfasts will be a great solution on the road to mental recovery.

Cheesecake recipe

Cheesecakes are one of the dishes we are used to both at home and on the breakfast menu of our favorite establishments. However, there are no analogues of this kind abroad, so the morning cheesecakes will taste like home.

Ingredients:

  • 2 packets of 5% cheese. (in briquettes or granules)
  • 1 or (or banana performs the same binding function)
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 1 tbsp. sugar or raisins
  • vanilla to taste

Preparation:

Mix everything with a fork, glue the circles, flatten them and send them in the oven or in a pan. Fry better over low heat with coconut oil (by aroma).

Lazy ball recipe

Lazy dough buns – another Ukrainian breakfast, which is hard to find an analogue. As well as being homey, it also tastes like childhood.

Ingredients:

  • sour milk cheese – 200 g
  • flour – 6 tbsp. l.
  • egg – 1 unit.
  • sugar – 1 tbsp. l.
  • salt – 2 pinches
  • butter to serve

Preparation:

Knead sour milk cheese with a fork, add egg, a pinch of salt and sugar. Mix well, add flour and knead the dough.

Roll out the dough into a roll about 1-2 cm thick and cut into small pieces.

Boil in boiling salted water for 2-3 minutes. after the dough balls appear.

Grease lazy balls on a plate and grease with butter. If desired, serve with balls of lazy dough, sour cream, berries or jam.

Pancake recipe

Although in peacetime many Ukrainians preferred American pancakes to Ukrainian pancakes, now many want classic pancakes, as their grandmother did when she was little.

Ingredients:

  • kefir – 1 cup
  • flour – 1 cup
  • egg – 1 unit.
  • sugar – 1 tbsp. l.
  • vanilla sugar ½ teaspoon.
  • soda 1/3 teaspoon.
  • sal

Preparation:

Beat the sugar, vanilla sugar and egg. Pour in the hot kefir and mix well. Slowly add the sifted flour, baking soda and mix the dough well again, then let it infuse for 10-15 minutes.

Heat the oil in a pan and fry the pancakes over medium heat for 1-2 minutes on each side.
